Like many people, we were faced with a predicament. We were hungry for knowledge and we loved reading, but our busy schedules forced us to put off our desire to learn. So we thought, how could we solve this problem? And so Librum began taking form. We started by getting highly qualified writers to summarize non-fiction books. Books such as “Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking”, “Zero to One: Notes on Startups” and “Disney War”.
Users will have access to all of our summaries for free, with no restrictions. Other companies offer a similar service, but they lack our vision. We believe that knowledge should be available to everyone, freely. It’s a way of giving everyone a chance at self-improvement. The way we’ve chosen to embrace this philosophy is by providing valuable content at zero cost for the user. As the product evolves, we will be including audio recordings of the summaries and give users the ability to vote on which non-fiction books they would like us to summarize next. On top of that, we will also include Spritz™, a highly innovative technology that allows users to significantly increase their reading speed. You can start slow and work your way up to a whopping 700 words-per-minute!
Librum will be available on both iPhone and Android, as well as a web app that will be usable on the iPad and all Android tablets. Eventually, we'll release native iPad and Android tablet apps. We will adding 10-20 books per month as we launch, and we plan to increase that number to 40 books monthly as we grow.
